Here are some Halloween season events coming up in the next few days.
» Goodies, Goblins and Ghost Stories, 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Hope Town Square and the Hope branch of the Bartholomew County Library, 635 Harrison St. The event will include a costume parade on the town square beginning at 5 p.m. followed by a trunk or treat. Crafts, professional storytellers, games and other activities are also planned at the library, while there will also be a Night at the Haunted Yellow Trail Museum that evening.
» Skate and Scare, 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Hamilton Center Ice Arena, 2501 Lincoln Park Drive, Columbus. There will be a haunted maze on the small ice, public skating on the large ice, crafts, and candy. Cost is $7, which includes skate rental.
» Halloween Costume Contest, 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Donner Center, 739 22nd St., Columbus. Children up to age 12 are invited to show off their Halloween creativity in costumes. Numbers for judging will be distributed beginning at 1:30 p.m. The contest for up to age 5 will begin at 2 p.m. A contest for children 6 to 12 will begin at about 3 p.m. All participants will receive a ribbon and a treat bag. First- through third-place prizes will be awarded in a variety of categories in each age group. A “Best in Contest” winner will also be chosen for each age group. Crafts will be available from 2 to 3:30 p.m. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
» Fall-O-Ween Fest, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St. Activities include: Paint a Pumpkin, Scary Stories to Tell, a Kooky Spooky Halloween Show, Haunted Book mobile and Ghostly Book Express, Mad Science Masquerade along with game stations and Frankenpuppets. Apple cider and popcorn will be served and all treat bags are food-allergy friendly. Costumes are encouraged, but not required.
