Voting is important to me. I wish I could say that I was always as diligent in the past as I am now when choosing who I will give my confidence and trust to.
Our founders understood how important the vote was and many of our ancestors fought for the right to have that privilege. Today, many take it for granted or do not see the real importance. They follow a group, a friend, the word on the street when deciding how they will vote, and for whom they will trust. I have been around the block and I can tell you, trust yourself. Be informed. Study the issues. A responsible voter does not vote for the candidate that will give them something. A voter needs to really consider the future when casting that vote.
I will be voting for the candidates that I have spent hours researching, talking to and asking hard questions. I will be voting for the candidates that understand how important this state and nation is to my great grandkids. Candidates that understand our individual responsibility to care for ourselves and to help care for others, freedom to live, to earn and to worship without the government’s oppressive hand interfering. I will be supporting the candidates that understand that our state and nation are best when its citizens are able to grow and prosper.
The candidates that I will support and vote for on Nov. 6 understand government needs to be limited, but when it is warranted to act it does so with restraint. I don’t expect perfection, but integrity and honesty. I will be voting for Ryan Lauer for District 59 state representative and Greg Pence for U.S. Congress, District 6.
