Columbus
I first met Dale Nowlin as a calculus student at Columbus North High School. He was my teacher for two years, and throughout that time he made his commitment to the academic progress of his students very clear. He spent time with us individually in class as well as organizing extra sessions outside of the school day to make sure we had the resources to succeed.
Over the past two years working with him I have seen his commitment to our community extend beyond just teaching. Dale worked with his neighborhood to prevent an intrusive radio tower from being constructed in downtown Columbus. Dale is also nationally recognized as a leader in education, serving on the board that oversees the evaluation of our nation’s schools. He is a committed member of his church community, First Presbyterian Church, where he is an elder.
I have been with him as he has campaigned, knocking on thousands of doors in Columbus and Bartholomew County. Dale always listens and takes to heart what people say at the doors. He knows that the issues facing our community aren’t Democratic issues or Republican issues. They’re just issues and they need good solutions. He knows that the best solutions come from thoughtful evaluation of the facts and not appeals to dogma and ideology.
A vote for Dale is a vote for someone who will always hear your concerns and try to find a solution that works for everyone. A vote for Dale is a vote for someone who will put your concerns first and not the concerns of special interest groups. A vote for Dale is a vote for someone who will make responsible choices about our future, not just the easy choices. A vote for Dale is a vote for a fresh face that will bring renewed leadership on education to the Statehouse.
I am proud to recommend you vote for my friend Dale Nowlin for state representative District 59.
