The fall installment of 2018 property tax bills is due by Nov. 13.
Payment options include mailing payments to the Bartholomew County Treasurer’s Office, P.O. Box 1986, Columbus, Ind. 47202, with responses postmarked by the due date.
Payments may be made at the following banks: Centra Credit Union, First Financial Bank, German American Bank, Jackson County Bank or Salin Bank, and the property owner must have the statement in order to make the payment.
There is a 24-hour drop box on the Third Street side of the County Governmental Office Building, 440 Third St., with envelopes provided. A copy of the statement, parcel number or address is required.
Payments may be made in person at the treasurer’s office during business hours, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. However, the treasurer’s office will be closed Tuesday for the general election and Nov. 12 for Veterans Day.
For people wishing to pay by credit card, use the instructions at the back of the statement or at bartholomew.in.gov. Credit card companies will assess a fee.
A 5 percent penalty will apply for any payments that are 30 days late. After Dec. 10, a 10 percent penalty will apply.
