Duncan ties for 38th in OHL Classic at Mayakoba
Tyler Duncan fired a final-round 5-under-par 66 Sunday to finish in a tie for 38th in the OHL Classic at Mayakoba in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
Duncan, a 2008 Columbus North graduate, shot an opening-round 73 on Thursday, but came back with a 65 Friday to make the cut. He had a 70 on Saturday and finished at 10-under 274.
Matt Kuchar finished at 22-under 262 to win the tournament by one shot over Danny Lee.
VanLiew earns national Player of the Week honor
Cortney VanLiew was named Player of the Week for non-Power 5 conferences by College: PrepVolleyball.com for her performance last weekend.
VanLiew, a sophomore from Columbus East, recorded 36 kills, three blocks and 12 digs to lead Florida Gulf Coast to wins against Lipscomb and Kennesaw State. She became the sixth player in school history with at least 700 career kills.
Patberg helps Hoosiers roll to victory at Oakland
Ali Patberg scored 13 points and led Indiana with eight rebounds and three assists Sunday to help the Hoosiers to a 59-32 rout at Oakland (Michigan).
Patberg, a redshirt-junior from Columbus North, went 5 for 8 from the field, including 0 for 1 from 3-point range, and 3 for 3 from the free-throw line in 26 minutes of action for the Hoosiers (2-0).
Huffman nets career high in loss to No. 2 Ashland
Ashlyn Huffman led Cedarville with a career-high 23 points and six assists Friday in an 84-74 loss to second-ranked Ashland (Ohio) in the Midwest Region Crossover at Ohio Dominican.
Huffman, a sophomore from Columbus North, had seven points, six rebounds and a team-high five assists Saturday in a 67-40 win against Quincy to wrap up the Midwest Region Crossover.
