Cummins employees aid food pantry

Staff Reports

Four teams of Cummins employees participated in a second annual competition to stock food pantry shelves at the local Salvation Army, and provided food items and cash donations exceeding $10,000 in value.

Customer Solutions Organization (CSO) employees in the General Office Building in Columbus worked together while competing against each other to solve a community problem: the need for food in many low-income households and the growing homeless population in the community. They also earned Every Employee, Every Community (EEEC) hours.

The contributions by the four CSO teams almost doubled donations from last year. The teams donated:

9,523 food items

$2,898 in money

$10,241.50 in total value, as calculated by the Salvation Army

The Cummins employees also loaded, delivered, sorted, cataloged and stocked the food pantry shelves.

The team leaders were:

Aftermarket Info Management: Mike Champlin

Service Event Solutions: Ryan Kikendall

Service Event Solutions IT: Kesavan (Venu) Venugopal

Cummins Care: Chad Pruitt
