Game Club among positive social opportunities

Jennings County High School is continually developing and introducing new ideas to make the school a place to learn and grow as a person.

As a student at the high school, I have noticed new positive changes and interesting activities I have never heard of. One of the many organized clubs at JCHS is Game Club.

I had the pleasure of talking to one of the members of the Game Club, Lessa Ash, a junior, and discuss what the purpose of this club is.

JCHS teacher Neil Snyder started the game club in 2003. Lessa has been a member of Game Club since the beginning of 2017. Game Club is an exciting place for groups of students to hang out and play board games while teaching others how to play. Quite a few people are involved in Game Club and they are always looking for more people to join in on the fun.

The purpose of Game Club is for the students at JCHS to be more involved socially and make new friends, all while having a good time. Game Club meets 6 p.m. Wednesdays.

Besides Game Club, there is an abundance of other new student organizations to join at JCHS, such as American Sign Language Club, JCHS Acapella Club and the Robotics Club. These activities help students develop friendships and feel like they are part of the community.
