Noah White, Columbus East junior wrestler
White won all three of his matches at 195 pounds Saturday in the Indiana High School Wrestling Coaches Association state duals in Fort Wayne to help lead the Olympians to a 10th-place team finish.
His performance last week: “I feel like I did pretty well. It definitely opened my eyes up that I needed to improve on some stuff. Going into my first match, I wasn’t warm and ready, but still managed to get a win against a pretty good kid. It showed me what I needed to get better on before my next match."

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I just warm up and get my mind right and get ready to wrestle.”
Favorite drink: “Sweet tea”

Best advice: “Losing just shows what you need to work on and shows you what you need to improve on.”

FEMALE
Allison Stogsdill, Brown County junior basketball player
Stogsdill led the Eagles with 21 points and nine steals in Friday’s 53-52 win at Edgewood. She then scored a career-high 28 points in Saturday’s 55-46 loss at Indian Creek.
Her performance last week: “I feel pretty good about it. I’m going into the next few games with more confidence, and I feel like my performance also comes from my team. We’ve really been working well together, and we’re meshing really well, and I think that’s helping me a lot.”
Do you do anything special to prepare? “I wear the same socks, and most of the time before a game, we eat together as a team, and that helps me just relax a little bit.”
Favorite drink: “I only drink water.”
Favorite food: “Italian”
Favorite book: “A Farewell To Arms”
Favorite class: “Science. I like my Biomed classes.”
Role model: “My grandpa (Robert ‘Buck’ Stogsdill). He died years ago, but he was sheriff of Brown County, and he really set an example for me an always gave back to the community and put others before himself.”
Best advice: “Always follow your heart and your dreams. Don’t give up on yourself, and you can always do something if you put your mind to it.”
Athletics goal: “To play basketball in college.”
If you could travel anywhere: “Somewhere where I can help people. In the future, I want to be a doctor, so I’d want go to a country that needs assistance, whether it be a Third World country or something like that.”
