Investigators with the Bartholomew County’s Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team, along with other law enforcement agencies, arrested six people and recovered a pound and a half of methamphetamine and three guns after serving a search warrant at an east-side Columbus home.
The search warrant was served at a home on South Mapleton Street on Wednesday, with JNET being assisted by Columbus police, Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies, Indiana State Police, the U.S. Postal Service, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms.
During a search, officers recovered the methamphetamine with a street value of more than $30,000 along with the firearms, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

- David Oswaldo Cornejo, 41,of 895 S. National Road, on preliminary charges of felony dealing in methamphetamine, felony possession of methamphetamine and felony maintaining a common nuisance. He was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $332,500 bond, jail officials said.
- Fernando Lopez-Mendez, 37, of 312 S. Mapleton St., on preliminary charges of felony dealing in methamphetamine, felony possession of methamphetamine and felony maintaining a common nuisance. He is being held without bond at the jail, jail officials said.
- Mirna Benitez-Paz, 42, of 312 S. Mapleton St., on a preliminary charge of felony maintaining a common nuisance. Bond was set at $7,500, jail officials said.
- Isabel Benitez-Paz, 38, of 312 S. Mapleton St., on a preliminary charge of felony maintaining a common nuisance. Bond was set at $7,500, jail officials said.
- Michell Vasqez Benitez, 19, of 312 S. Mapleton St., on a preliminary charge of misdemeanor visiting a common nuisance. Bond was set at $3,500, jail officials said.
- Rogelio Moreno Benitez, 19, of 312 S. Mapleton St., on a preliminary charge of misdemeanor visiting a common nuisance. Bond was set at $3,500, jail officials said.
In an unrelated case, on Tuesday, Columbus police and Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies stopped a vehicle on State Street in Columbus, where a quarter pound of methamphetamine was found, Harris said.
Federico E. Reyes, 39, of 720 N. Marr Road, was arrested on a preliminary charge of felony possession of methamphetamine, jail officials said. He was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $125,000 bond, jail officials said.
