• the two kind ladies that shoveled our car out of a snowdrift in Forest Park, from Norm and Norma.

• the 22nd Street neighbor for clearing our sidewalks.

• the growing number of people in the United States who do not identify with any religion.

• the good Samaritan(s) for blazing a path through the snow along Westenedge Drive from Rocky Ford Road to National Road for walkers and bicycle riders going to and from school, from a crossing guard.

• the Rottinghauses for clearing our driveway on two occasions from the Steeles.

• Marquita Tuck for making the best ham salad ever and all the wonderful things you do for people, from Marsha.

• Donald Trump for doing such a good job with this country.

• my three kids and my neighbors for bringing me food while I was sick all week, from Betty.

Onions to …

• those who blow train horns at midnight.

• the train operators for the 11:15 p.m., midnight and 4:20 a.m. train horns, because it has to stop.

• the person who tore up the church property by cutting doughnuts in the snow and tearing up all the grass, because it is disgusting.

• the local business that buys property because it hears another business wants to buy it and then doesn’t know what to do with it.

• Democrats for not negotiating with Donald Trump in good faith.

• those responsible for holding thousands of people’s jobs hostage in the government shutdown.

• the parents dropping children off at the elementary school for jockeying to get near a specific entrance or stopping at both entrances, and the school staff for not doing a better job directing traffic.

• the politicians who want universal health care but never tell us their plan to pay for it.
