JENNINGS COUNTY — Three North Vernon residents are in jail on preliminary drug-related charges after police executed a search warrant related to stolen property.
The Jennings County Sheriff’s Department, in cooperation with the Westport Police Department, executed a search warrant at a residence in Country Squire Lakes in North Vernon on Thursday, said David Turner, chief deputy of the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department.
The search warrant was signed by Jennings Circuit Court Judge Jon Webster after Westport Assistant Police Chief Ryan Arbuckle received information about the location of stolen property that was taken from the Westport area. In a joint effort between the two agencies, officers located stolen property, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the search, which resulted in the arrests of Larry Marksberry Jr., 39; Brittany Morgan, 32; and Carl Morgan, 53, Turner said.
They were transported to the Jennings County Jail, and the Department of Child Services was contacted and took custody of two children, Turner said.
