PNC planning to move out of downtown to 25th Street

A local bank is moving out of one of the oldest bank buildings in Bartholomew County.

PNC Financial Services Group Inc. has confirmed it will close its downtown Columbus branch at the southeast corner of Fourth and Washington streets on April 26.

Letters sent out last week informed customers the facility would be merged with another local branch in the 25th Street Shopping Center, said PNC director of corporate public relations Marcey Zwiebel.

That branch, located at 1830 25th Street, has been undergoing extensive renovations in recent months, Zweibel said.

Besides the 25th Street location, PNC intends to keep its locations in Seymour and Nashville, she said.
