• the intelligence chiefs for contradicting the president when telling us the real threats to our nation (which did not include the southern border).

• CIA director Gina Haspel and director of National Intelligence Dan Coats for giving us a truthful, realistic assessment of the threats our country faces.

• Southwest Fire Department for their hard work in the bitter cold to volunteer to fight fires.

• Billy Koons for his hard work and dedication to the Southwest Fire Department.

• Grammy for taking care of me while I was sick, from Caitlyn.

• the kind person who turned in my lost wallet at Kroger on Tuesday.

• Overhead Door techs Mark and Keaton for braving sub-zero temps to replace a broken garage door.

• Ken Fudge for continuing to voice his aversion to the lack of transparency in our city government.

• John at SIHO for providing snacks, lunch and hot drinks for employees who worked during the polar vortex.

• those who remember that the president took ownership of the shutdown.

• the city street department for the great job they’ve been doing clearing the streets this winter.

• Doug Showalter for his Prime Time articles.

• the Republic carriers and the Meals on Wheels driver for delivering in this bitter cold weather.

• the U.S. intelligence chiefs for speaking truth to power to the world for the real threats to our nation.

• Hope paper carrier Michael Percifield for being so thoughtful and considerate of his customers.

• the nice policeman who came to my house to let me in when I was locked out on a cold day.

• Mac for going and getting my groceries on Tuesday when it was getting cold.

• progressives who don’t understand they created the great division era.

• the youth league for not canceling basketball Wednesday night.

• local companies that allow some employees and managers to stay or work at home in cold while others must be at work.

• the letter writer who uses the adjectives undocumented, unauthorized and illegal 14 times to correctly identify an enormous group that has entered the U.S. in violation of our laws, but then attempts to excuse and justify their presence.

• the city that continues to hire consultants instead of using paid employees to do the work.
