North grads seeking PGA Tour Latinoamerica bids

Two former Columbus North golfers are attempting to finish in the top 36 of the PTLA Qualifying Tournament, which would earn them a spot on the PGA Tour Latinamerica for this year.

Jake Coffey carded his second consecutive 75 Thursday and fell from a tie for ninth to a tie for 23rd. He had a 67 in Tuesday’s opening round.

Michael VanDeventer fired a 68 Thursday to climb from a tie for 75th to a tie for 47th. He shot 76 and 80 in the first two rounds.

The final round is today in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Patberg scores 10 in Hoosiers loss at Rutgers

Indiana led at No. 17 Rutgers by a point going to the fourth quarter, but the Scarlet Knights rallied for a 69-64 Big Ten women’s basketball victory.

Ali Patberg, a redshirt-junior from Columbus North, scored 10 points and led the Hoosiers (16-6, 5-4) with five assists and two steals. She added three rebounds in 36 minutes of action.

Brenna Wise led Indiana with 15 points. Bendu Yeaney and Jaelynn Penn each added 12.
