Police arrest local man in stolen truck just minutes after report was made

Columbus police arrested the driver of a truck minutes after it was reported stolen.

Police were sent to the 700 block of Reed Street about a person wanting to make a stolen vehicle report shortly after noon Saturday, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

A short time later, officers saw the stolen Toyota truck near Eighth and Wilson streets. A high risk traffic stop was conducted and officers arrested the driver, Dilian S. Ozburn, 26, Columbus, Harris said.

While searching Ozbun, officers found methamphetamine in one of his pants pockets and recovered two stolen cell phones, Harris said.

Ozbun was arrested on preliminary charges of theft, auto theft and possession of methamphetamine, Harris said.
