“Criminal Minds” (10 p.m., CBS, TV-14) wraps up its 14th season. In typical cliffhanger fashion, Rossi’s trip down the aisle is subject to delays due to a murder spree.
The series has been renewed for a 15th season that will be its last. Like other 21st-century CBS shows, this series represented the network’s turn away from comedies and dramas to celebrate male geniuses in the fields of profiling and forensics, operating against a backdrop of morbidity and lurid violence.
“Criminal Minds” is not the only CBS crime drama to have its dark themes seep into its backstage drama. Mandy Patinkin departed the show because he could not abide its subject matter.
