Columbus firefighters put out a storage building fire at 382 Clifty Drive this morning.
When firefighters were sent to the address at 9:11 a.m. today, they found smoke coming from a 10-foot by 15-foot building in the back yard, said Capt. Mike Wilson, Columbus Fire Department spokesman.
Firefighters found a small fire in a corner of the building and used a small amount of water to put it out, Wilson said. They then set up a large ventilation fan to remove smoke from the storage building.
The fire department is continuing to try to locate the tenants at the home, Wilson said. The cause of the fire has been listed as undetermined with damages estimated at about $500.
No injuries were reported at the scene. Agencies that assisted during the incident include the Columbus Police Department, Columbus Regional Health EMS and the Bartholomew County Emergency Operation Center.
