Hauser graduate helps team to conference title
Alex Gross scored nine points and grabbed six rebounds Saturday to help Olivet Nazarene to a 73-57 win at Trinity Christian to clinch the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference championship and an automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament.
Gross, a freshman from Hauser, went 4 of 4 from the field and 1 of 2 from the free-throw line. He also had an assist in 16 minutes of action for the Tigers (21-7, 14-4), who clinched their first NAIA tourney bid since 2015.
Patberg-less Hoosiers fall at Michigan State
Playing without leading scorer and assist leader Ali Patberg, Indiana University dropped a 77-61 Big Ten women’s basketball decision Monday at 23rd-ranked Michigan State.
Patberg, a redshirt-junior from Columbus North, is recovering from a separated shoulder suffered in Wednesday’s loss to Minnesota. Jaelynn Penn led the Hoosiers (17-8, 6-7) with 19 points.
