Three Georgia residents arrested on theft charges

Staff Reports

Three Georgia residents have been arrested on theft charges here as the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department continues an investigation whether they are involved in other thefts around Indiana and in other states.

The investigation began Tuesday night after reported theft and attempted theft incidents at hotels in Taylorsville and Columbus, with the suspects then being pursued into a neighboring county, officers said.

Two males, identified as Askari Greer, 27, Atlanta, Georgia, and Jacobey Nelson, 23, Forest Park, Georgia, were arrested, but Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department detectives believe they may have falsely identified themselves. Both are being held without bond in the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of theft.
