It will be an All-Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference Class 4A battle Saturday night in the Boys Basketball State Finals.
Top-ranked Carmel (25-1) rolled to its second consecutive title-game appearance with a 71-42 win against No. 9 Penn (24-4) in the semistate at Lafayette Jeff on Saturday.
In the other 4A semistate, Ben Davis (20-7) avenged a regular-season loss with a 67-61 win against Center Grove (21-9) in a battle of unranked teams at Washington.
Carmel and Ben Davis will meet for the title at around 8:15 p.m. Saturday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The Greyhounds won the regular-season matchup 49-39 on Jan. 25.
Class 3A
Defending champion Culver Academy will meet Silver Creek for the 3A title at 6 p.m. Saturday.
No. 3 Culver Academy (24-3) advanced with a 57-44 win against co-No. 14 Marion (19-8) at Elkhart Central.
No. 6 Silver Creek (24-3), meanwhile, will make its first state finals appearance following a 72-69 win against No. 13 Indianapolis Attucks (13-9) at Seymour.
Class 2A
Linton and Andrean pulled upsets to reach the state title game, which will be at around 12:45 p.m. Saturday.
No. 8 Linton (27-3) built a 40-29 halftime lead and went on to hand No. 2 Shenandoah (26-2) a 73-56 loss at Seymour.
No. 14 Andrean (20-8) pulled out a 73-64 double-overtime win over No. 4 Frankton (25-4) at Lafayette Jeff.
Class A
The top two teams in Class A for most of the season will meet for the title at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in a rematch of a December meeting.
No. 2 Barr-Reeve (26-2) routed No. 11 Bloomfield (20-8) 65-39 at Washington. No. 1 Fort Wayne Blackhawk (27-2) beat No. 3 Lafayette Central Catholic (24-5) 74-51 at Elkhart Central.
Blackhawk beat Barr-Reeve 78-69 in overtime Dec. 29 in championship game of the Graber Post Classic at North Daviess.
