Hoover drops out of Columbus City Council race

Nancy Hoover, a retired educator who filed as a Democratic candidate for the Columbus City Council District 3 seat, announced on Tuesday that she is dropping out of the race due to undisclosed health reasons.

Hoover did not have a challenger in the primary, but she would have faced incumbent Republican David Bush or his challenger, Republican Russ Poling, in November’s general election.

“It’s due to health reasons,” Hoover said. “I’m extremely disappointed because I have put a lot of effort into this campaign.”
