Bidders at the 19th annual unCommon Cause gala and auction spent about $45,000 for items ranging from ballet tickets to a week in Copper Mountain, Colorado, all to help Columbus Area Arts Council provide free public programming at The Commons.

It was announced that Holthouse Furniture Store at 435 Fourth St., would close at the end of April but would be replaced by Brad’s Home Furnishings, which was moving from the former Westermeier Hardware Co. at Third and California streets.
