Columbus Symphony Orchestra Music Director Josh Aerie will change responsibilities for a major part of Sunday’s 3:30 p.m. concert at The Commons.
Aerie, a veteran cellist, will join symphony concertmaster Phil Palermo to perform Brahms’ Double Concerto, with special guest conductor Andrew Lyon.
Lyon recently concluded a six-year tenure as the artistic and music director of the 65th Street Klezmorim in Indianapolis. Under his leadership, the ensemble saw exponential growth artistically, a 50 percent increase in its membership, a five-fold expansion of its annual concert offerings, and the establishment of a $100,000 endowment.
The concert also will include Alberto Ginastera’s “Estancia Suite,” and Sergei Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 1 “Classical.”
Tickets: adults: $10 in advance, $15 at the door; senior citizens and students ages 12 to 18, $5 in advance and $10 at the door; those younger than 12 with a paying adult, free. Information: csoindiana.org
