Parks and Recreation hosting Tour de Trails events

Columbus Parks and Recreation is accepting registration for a pair of Tour de Trails events.

There will be a 5K Walk, 5K run and 8K run at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Hawcreek Trail by Lincoln Park. Cost is $25. To register, visit https://www.signmeup.com/site/online-event-registration/129198

Youth training summit will explain resistance training

Columbus Youth Flag Football will host a youth training summit from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday in the Central Middle School main gym.

The focus of the session will be to demonstrate and explain resistance training techniques for youth athletic development. This will be a free informational session for all youth ages 6 to 18 and their parents.

Ladies league to hold organizational meeting

The Greenbelt Monday Nite Ladies League will hold its  organizational meeting at 5:30 p.m. April 22 at the Greenbelt Clubhouse.

Ladies of all ages are invited to attend and join the fun nine-hole league.

East boys soccer callout meeting set

The Columbus East boys soccer program will have a callout meeting for any current eighth-to-11th-grade students who are interested in playing soccer this fall at 7 p.m. April 29 in Room 110 (Large Group Lecture Hall) of East High School.

Columbus East sets football callout meeting

The 2019 Columbus East football callout meeting will be at 6 p.m. May 7 in the school’s cafeteria.

Incoming freshmen through seniors who are interested in playing football at East in the fall and their parents are encouraged to attend.

Olympian wrestlers conducting ‘Mulch Madness’

The Columbus East Wrestling Club is hosting its Eighth Annual Mulch Madness, with help from Hackman’s Farm Market and Greenhouse.

Individuals or businesses can order mulch by going to columbuseastathletics.com, then clicking on Winter, Wrestling, Varsity and Mulch Madness, or by texting "Mulch" to 812-343-1882 to receive a text back.

Deliveries will continue at 8 a.m. May 13. If a rainout occurs that Saturdays, a makeup will be on the following day. Those ordering are asked to check the website for weather-related delivery updates.
