Columbus East graduate interns at Statehouse
INDIANAPOLIS — Jon Brunnemer, a Columbus East High School graduate, is interning for Rep. Ryan Lauer, R-Columbus, during the 2019 legislative session.
Brunnemer earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Valparaiso University. As a legislative intern, he corresponds with constituents through phone calls, letters and emails while also staffing committee hearings and floor proceedings.
“Working in the Indiana House of Representatives is a rewarding and encouraging experience,” Brunnemer said. “The lawmakers’ attention and concern for their constituents is clear. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve the people of Indiana and participate in the legislative process.”
Each year, the House of Representatives offers paid internship opportunities to college students, law-school students, graduate students and recent college graduates for the duration of each legislative session.
