HOPE — The Students Fund of Hope is hosting a lantern festival and night golf tournament to help Flat Rock-Hawcreek School Corp. students and families pay for year-end school expenses.
The event begins at 5 p.m. Saturday at Clifty Creek Golf Course, 12000 E. County Road 225N in Hope. All proceeds will benefit the Students Fund of Hope, a nonprofit organization created by Whitney Budd and Stephanie Long, both Hope residents.
Since it was established in July 2018, Students Fund of Hope has raised more than $17,000 to help students at Flat Rock-Hawcreek schools.
Various children’s activities will be available throughout the evening such as a bounce house and a food allergy-friendly Easter Egg hunt for all ages. Food vendors will also be on site, along with a cash bar.
The nonprofit is partnering with Korn Country to broadcast a live show from the event.
A lantern release will take place at dusk. Lanterns are 100 percent biodegradable with smaller fuel cells so they burn out before reaching the ground, organizers said.
The night golf scramble will immediately follow at dark. Teams of four can register to play nine holes for $40 per person or $150 per team.
