MKSK recommended to lead FairOaks redesign process

The FairOaks Community Development Corp. Design Committee on Friday said it would recommend MKSK to help guide the city through the process of defining the future of FairOaks Mall and Donner Center.
The recommendation came after two days of interview with firms that were vying for the job, and it is the first step in the process of approving the firm.
Next, the design committee will formulate a recommendation for the FairOaks Community Development Corp. board, the panel that is charged with giving final approval on the firm. The board will consider the recommendation at its April 30 meeting.
If approved by the board, MKSK would help the city test the feasibility of proposed ideas for the project, conduct a market analysis and engage with the community to help the city decide what kinds of facilities should be built on the mall site and at Donner Center.
