Commission approves Poshard Drive extension

The Columbus Redevelopment Commission has approved a request to extend Poshard Drive at the Columbus Municipal Airport by about 700 feet.

Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. is planning to build a soccer complex in the area. Airport director Brian Payne said the street expansion would allow the complex to sit back from Vickers Drive and create an opportunity for further development.

The project include a 10-foot side path to allow for future connection for development. The road will be heavy-duty to withstand increased traffic in the area.

The estimated cost of the project is $416,677.50. The money will come from the airport allocation fund. Payne did not have a timeline of when the expansion would be complete.
