Tucker Smith, Columbus North freshman track athlete
Smith won the shot put with a throw of 55 feet, 2 inches and the discus with a toss of 129-5 to lead the Bull Dogs to an 89-34 dual-meet win against Columbus East.
His performance last week: “With it raining, we hadn’t had a practice where it was that nasty out. It was pretty nice the week before, so going into it, it was rough.”

FEMALE
Kylah Lawson, Columbus North freshman track athlete
Lawson won the long jump (15-1 1/4) and 200 meters (27.6 seconds) and ran on the winning 4×100 and 4×400 relay teams to lead the Bull Dogs to an 82-50 dual-meet win against Columbus East.
Her performance last week: “I feel very good about my performance last week. It just felt really special to win the events I did.”
Do you do anything special to prepare? “I drink Body Armor and do warmup stretches.”

Athletics goal: “I want to beat my (personal records) and just do my best.”
