Deputies arrest burglary suspect after neighbor’s tip

Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a local man on preliminary charges of burglary and drug-related charges after a homeowner was notified by a neighbor that someone was breaking into her house.

Deputy Jaron Aspenson was sent to a home in the 1200 block of Jonesville Road at 11:22 p.m. Monday and saw a flashlight moving inside of the garage at the home, deputies said.

The suspect, identified as William McClintock, 48, Franklin, exited the garage and was detained, deputies said.

Methamphetamine, a syringe and a large number of vehicle keys were found in McClintock’s possession, deputies said. There were additional vehicle keys located on the garage floor.

McClintock was arrested on preliminary charges of burglary, possession of methamphetamine and possession of a syringe, deputies said.

He was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $155,000 bond, jail officials said.
