CRH to offer peer counselor training

Columbus Regional Health and Pink Ribbon Connection will offer free training to peer counselors who help breast cancer patients through their journey of diagnosis and treatment.

Peer counselors provide breast cancer patients with a sympathetic ear, support and information from the perspective of a breast cancer survivor. All breast cancer survivors who have been out of treatment for one year or more are invited to a session to learn how to be a peer counselor.

The training is free and will be offered by psychologist Christine Ward from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Columbus Regional Hospital Innovation Center. Dinner will be provided.

To learn more or to register, call 317-255-PINK (7465) or the CRH Breast Health Center at 812-376-5064.
