Dayspring Church Apostolic — Worship begins at 11:15 a.m. at the church, 2127 Doctors Park Drive, Columbus.

Every visitor receives a free gift.

On Sunday, the church will be inspired by the message, “Jesus Is The Way,” which is taken from John 14:6, where Jesus shares, “I am the way, the truth. And the life…”

The Sunday education session starts at 10 a.m. and covers “The Gospel of Faith Foretold,” as shared in Galatians 3:1-14.

Bible study will be at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Study will continue on the theme “My Faith is a Carpenter.”

Prayer of Power starts at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and is preceded with requests and instructions on prayer. The Celebrate Recovery session starts at 6:30 p.m. for about an hour.

Ignite is the Youth Growth Session that happens every third Friday.

Fairlawn Presbyterian — Worship begins at 9:30 a.m. led by the Rev. Elizabeth Kirkpatrick, followed by fellowship time.

Child care is available during Sunday services and second hour studies.

A men’s breakfast is 7:30 a.m. the second Saturday of every month for men of all ages.

The Last Friday’s Bluegrass event is 7:30 p.m. the last Friday of every month. All are welcome to bring an instrument and play along or simply enjoy the music.

Collections and donations for Love Chapel are peanut butter and jelly in May and canned fruit in June.

The church will be assembling kits for a Presbyterian disaster relief project after worship on Sunday. This is an opportunity to contribute items for hygiene kits and assemble them. The kits provide practical help for those recovering from a tornado, flood, hurricane or other disaster.

First Presbyterian — Worship begins at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at the church, 512 Seventh St., Columbus. The congregation will celebrate the journey of faith of the confirmation class. The sermon on the communion service will be based on Peter’s vision and preaching in Acts 10:1-17, 34-48, with a sermon titled, “God Says It’s Clean.” The adult choir will lead worship.

Infant and toddler care is available from 9:15 a.m. to noon Sunday.

The men’s and women’s support groups meet at 7 a.m. Fridays, and a second men’s support group of working-age men meets every Monday at 6:15 a.m.

People in need of a meal are invited to Hot Meals, offered 5 p.m. Friday, with entry through the glass doors on Franklin Street.

The church is LGBTQ-friendly, open and affirming to all.

First United Methodist — On Sunday at the 9 a.m. Traditional Service and the 11 a.m. Celebration Service, the Rev. Howard Boles will deliver the message, “What Jesus Left Behind: Changed Lives,” at the church, 618 Eighth St., Columbus. The scripture will be John 21:1-19.

Sunday School for all ages begins at 10:10 a.m. Child care is available during both services.

Flintwood Wesleyan — The 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday service will be led by the Rev. Wes Jones, senior pastor, at the church, 5300 E. 25th St., Columbus. There will be a time of fellowship between the two services with coffee and doughnuts. Sunday School and evening activities are dismissed.

The small group Bible study, “In The Beginning…,” is 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday in The Friendship Center. It is studying the book of Genesis.

Wednesday activities begin with supper at 5:30 p.m. followed by GLOW at 6:15 p.m. The Prayer Team meets at 6:15 p.m. in the Prayer Room. Youths meet at 6:30 p.m. and adult Bible study meets at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary.

On Thursdays, Cub Scout Pack 588 will meet when events are scheduled and Boy Scout Troop 588 will meet at 7 p.m.

Garden City Church of Christ — The theme for Sunday’s service will be “Love That Makes All Things New.”

Pastor Brian Gilroy is the lead minister and Pastor Brian Graves is the family life minister.

From 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Mondays through May 13, the small group “Hope Beyond Today” is starting at the church. This group has been developed by those who lost loved ones and hopes to provide hurting people with practical ways to deal with their pain as a result of their life-changing loss. Contact the church or sign up at the welcome center in the church.

Grace Lutheran — The Rev. John Armstrong will deliver the message, “How the Risen Lord Continuously Re-calls disciples to Himself,” based on John 21:1-14. Worship begins at 8 and 10:30 a.m. with children’s Sunday school at 9:30 a.m.

“Searching the Scriptures” continues at 6 p.m. Tuesday with a detailed look at Communion. All are welcome.

The church will be a city-wide voting center from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The International Friendship Center at Grace will be 9:30-11 a.m. May 17 for an early Memorial Day pitch-in.

Light of Life Lutheran — Bible study will be 4 p.m. May 19 at The Commons, 300 Washington St., Columbus. It will take place in the Xenia Miller Conference Room located on the second floor.

The study topic will be: “Why Is The World So Crazy?” The Bible study will be led by Pastor Scott Miller from Light of Life Lutheran Church. Light of Life is a confessional Lutheran Church that holds strongly to every word of the Bible as the word of God. The study will last about an hour. Study materials will be provided. All are welcome.

Memorial Baptist — Worship begins at 9:30 a.m., at 2320 Seventh St., Columbus.

Sunday school classes for all ages follow at 10:45 a.m. There are programs for both children and youth as well.

Old Union United Church of Christ — Sunday service is at 10 a.m.; it is the third Sunday of Easter. Sunday school is at 9 a.m., followed by fellowship at 9:40 a.m. Pastor Kirby Rupp will deliver the message, “Feed My Lambs, Tend My Sheep,” with readings from Acts 9:1-20, Psalm 30 and John 21:1-19.

Wednesday Bible study will be at 6 p.m.

St. Paul Lutheran — At the 8 and 10:45 a.m. services Pastor Doug Bauman will deliver the message, “By Christ Alone,” based on Acts 9:1-22 Sunday at the church, 6045 E. State St., Columbus.

The rite of Confirmation and First Communion will be held at the 10:45 a.m. service Sunday for Ethan Harris, Noah Hoeltke, Mason Kaiser, Caleb Knollman, Maggie Mathews, Samuel Nienaber, Jacob Strietelmeier and Glory Wofford.

Petersville United Methodist — At the 9 a.m. worship service on Sunday, the Rev. Stormy Scherer-Berry will deliver the message “Freedom to Follow.” Scriptures from John 21 will be shared at the church, located at 2781 N. County Road 500E, Columbus. The focus will be on an invitation to leave hesitations and claim discipleship. Special music will be provided by the choir, and Teresa Covert will give the children’s sermon. All loose coins received during each Sunday’s offering through the month of June will go to Love Chapel.

A time of fellowship will follow the service.

The United Methodist Men’s group will meet at 7:15 a.m. Sunday morning, prior to worship. President Don Harris will lead the business meeting and Larry Nolting will lead the book study, “Chicken Soup for the Soul — Stories of Faith.”

The Baker’s Dozen study group will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday at the home of Larry and Connie Nolting. The Journey study class also meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Chris Kimerling’s home. New members are always welcome to both classes.

The “Sit ‘n Stitch” group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, also at the Nolting home. Choir practice is at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and the Prayer Group, led by Barb Hedrick, will meet at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the church.

Westside Community — At 10 a.m. Sunday, Pastor Dennis Aud will lead the service at the church, at State Road 46 West and Tipton Lakes Boulevard, Columbus. The children’s program for children of all ages through sixth grade begins at the same time.

Pastor Aud will lead a four-week follow-up video series titled “A Case for Easter,” featuring Lee Strobel. This study will be on Wednesday nights from 7 to 8 p.m. through May 15.

Events

Westport Baptist concert — The Living Witness Choir of the Westport Baptist Church and the Vernon Baptist Church Choir will be joining together for their annual Praise Concert at 7 p.m. Sunday at Westport Baptist, 202 E. Main St. in Westport. The concert will feature both choirs individually, with the combined choir performing several selections as well. A new addition will be a selection that includes a children’s choir.

The Vernon Baptist Choir is directed by Karen Meeker. The Westport Baptist Living Witness Choir is directed by Deanna McCullough and accompanied by Jennifer Chastain. The concert will be followed by a time of food and fellowship in the Westport Baptist Outreach Center. The concert is open to all.

Burnsville Christian — The church will host a spaghetti dinner 5-7 p.m. today at the church, 2891 S. County Road 900E, Columbus.

The meal will include salad, garlic bread, hot dogs, drinks and desserts. A freewill offering will support family charities. All are welcome and invited.

Flintwood Wesleyan — The open market will begin at 8:30 a.m. today. The market will be the first Saturday of each month May through October. Local artisans will be set up plus food booths and produce booths. If you are interested in renting a booth contact Kim Rutan in the church office.

The church is launching a Celebrate Recovery program with meetings on Sunday evenings beginning next Sunday. A meal will be served at 5:30 p.m., with the meeting begins at 6 p.m. The church will provide child-care services with safe care givers. All are welcome.

The Friendship Center will be a vote center for the Tuesday primary.

The monthly SAM luncheon will be 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday. The meal is aimed at those 50 years and older and includes good food and good fellowship.

The annual fish fry event is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 18, and will include a silent auction and free-will garage sale. Orders can be taken for pick-up for the meal.

First United Methodist — At 7 p.m. May 31, FUMC will present David K. Lamb on the organ. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The concert, part of the Fridays@First series, will be in the sanctuary, and is free and open to the public.

Lowell General Baptist — There is a hymn sing at 7 p.m. today. Judith Montgomery and Family from Shoals will be the featured singers.

Garden City Church of Christ — The Incredible Race Vacation Bible school for children age 4 through sixth grade is set for June 9-16. Sessions will be 6-8:30 p.m. and will include dinner.

Kids will participate activities to uncover clues and attempt challenges as they fill score cards. Messages will include the concept that all people all part of the same race — the human race — and all part of the same family from Adam and Eve.
