The Bartholomew County Literacy Task Force will present its annual Literacy Festival from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Central Middle School, 725 Seventh St. Admission is free and families are encouraged to attend.
There will be literacy booths in the gym and a Book Character Parade from 11:30 a.m. to noon. Participants are asked to bring their character’s book to receive a special prize.
Chinese dancers will perform at noon followed by Mexican folk dancers at 12:30 p.m. An improv performance is planned at 1 p.m.
Door prizes will be awarded between 1:30 and 2 p.m. and individuals must be present to win.
Gently used books will be distributed free at the event.
The festival is sponsored by PIP printing, NTN Driveshaft and the Literacy Task Force.
