Duncan sits third in rain-delayed third round

Staff Reports

Tyler Duncan had to wait most of the day to tee off, then got in only nine holes in Saturday’s third round of the AT&T Byron Nelson Classic.

Still, the 2008 Columbus North graduate is in third place after firing a 3-under-par 33 on the front nine at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas, Texas. The round, which was delayed several hours at the start because of rain, was suspended because of darkness after the leaders had finished nine holes.

Duncan, who carded rounds of 64 and 66 on Thursday and Friday, is 15-under, three shots out of the lead. Matt Every leads the field at 18-under, and Sung Kang is second at 17-under. Those three golfers are playing in the final pairing.

Rory Sabbatini is in a three-way tie for fourth at 13-under. Two-time major champion Brooks Koepka is in a tie for seventh at 12-under, and three-time major winner Jordan Spieth is tied for 16th at 10-under.
