Marketplace: Southern Indiana Center for the Arts announces new director

The Southern Indiana Center for the Arts has announced that Sean Hildreth has been named executive director, effective May 20.

A Seymour native, Hildreth brings more than 15 years of experience in programming, fundraising and nonprofit management. He began his career as an actor and director after graduating from Butler University in 2000.

He went on to work at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis supervising many public events, member benefits, summer camp and family programs.

After working for the planned giving marketing firm, Pentera, he moved back to Seymour to help the community as the resource development director at Jackson County United Way.

SICA will host a reception for Hildreth at 5 p.m. on May 24 at the center, 2001 N. Ewing St., Seymour. The reception is sponsored by Cummins with Al Unser Sr., three-time Indianapolis 500 winner. In honor of the Indianapolis 500 and the 100th anniversary of Cummins, SICA will host an exhibit featuring works from Unser’s collection through June 1.

SICA works to promote artistic achievement and cultural enrichment in the region. Learn more at soinart.com.
