COLUMBUS
Mae Belle Estes, 80, of Columbus, passed away at 5:50 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mae was born September 1, 1938, in Lebanon, Kentucky, the daughter of George and Newana Decker Hill.
Mrs. Estes loved her family. She collected dolls and enjoyed going to garage sales. Listening to country music and sitting outdoors were among her favorite things to do. She was also an animal lover and had four dogs, Frisbee, Sherman, Gizmo and Chichi.
Survivors include her children, Larry (Pamela) Estes of Brown County, Norma Estes, Glenna Estes Jernigan, Michael (Jennifer) Estes all of Columbus; grandchildren, Christina (Steven) Holcomb, Jessica Estes, Bradley Ward, Tazia Taylor, Chelsea Boston, Hayley Anderson, Amber Estes, Tiara Taylor, Jillian Estes, Kameron Jernigan, Samantha Estes, Zoey Jernigan, Heidi Estes; great-grandchildren, Cayden and Izaiah Holcomb, Khyan Coram; brother, Delbert Hill of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Junior Southerland; second husband, Norman G. Estes and son-in-law, Dave Jernigan.
The funeral will be conducted Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Dale Lucas officiating. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
