Jets blank Spartans

SHELBYVILLE — Aaron Mee threw a four-hitter, and Hauser finished off an unbeaten Mid-Hoosier Conference season with a 13-0 win at Southwestern (Shelby) on Wednesday.

Jacob Luken went 3 for 3 with a double and four stolen bases for the Jets (16-4, 12-0). Luken now is 11 for 11 with 13 RBIs in three games this week.

Jackson Paradise went 3 for 5 with a double and four RBIs. Sean Miller went 3 for 5, Will Trotter went 2 for 5 with a double and two RBIs and Parker Eickbush also had two RBIs.

Eagles topple Trinity

NASHVILLE — Emma Summers threw a five-hitter and struck out 10 Wednesday to lead Brown County to a 4-1 win against Trinity Lutheran.

Allison Stogsdill went 2 for 3 with a home run for the Eagles (19-3). Myka Snyder also went 2 for 3.

Savannah Harweger had three of the five hits for the Cougars (7-9).

Cougars rout Mohawks

WALDRON — Sierra Lang threw a two-hitter and went 2 for 4 with three RBIs Wednesday to lead South Decatur to a 17-2, five-inning MHC win at Waldron

Lana Bell went 3 for 3 for the Cougars (3-16, 3-7). Karah Biddinger had a double and two RBIs, and Madison Shields and Erynn Dyer also had two RBIs.

East downs Red Devils

Kody Reynolds won medalist honors with a 41 to lead Columbus East to a 179-191 win against Jeffersonville Wednesday at Otter Creek.

Adrian Adams carded a 43 for the Olympians. Cole Schaefer added a 47, Leyton Erfmeier shot 48 and Ethan Davis had a 71.

Eagles outscore Braves

NASHVILLE — Parker VanNess won medalist honors with a 32 to lead Brown County to a 183-189 win against Indian Creek Wednesday at Salt Creek.

Curtis Lookebill carded a 46 for the Eagles. Cooper VanNess added a 49, Rex Watters shot 56, Jake Huddleston had a 58, Wyatt Frist finished with a 59, Seth Oliphant shot 61 and Peyton Proctor had a 62.

Jets top Yellow Jackets

Hauser picked up a 186-196 win against Morristown Monday at Clifty Creek.

Sam Johnson led the Jets with a 43. Ethan Wallace and Justice Gilliland each shot 45, Keagan Miller and Justin Stafford each shot 53, Daniel Taylor carded a 58, Ben Johnson added a 65 and Alex Woodson-Johnson had a 69.

GIRLS TRACK

Panthers capture title

SEYMOUR — Jennings County won Tuesday’s Seymour Sectional with 125 1/2 points to 114 for runner-up Seymour.

Kayla Truesdell led the Panthers with wins in the shot put (40 feet, 9 1/4 inches) and discus (120-03). Izzy Daugherty captured the 300-meter hurdles (47.65 seconds).

Sam Sproles finished second in the long jump (16-8) and 400 (1:03.87). Also finishing second were Daugherty in the 200 (27.32); Patricia Henney in the 800 (2:33.74); Emma Morrison, Ashley Heindel, Henney and Baylee Byford (10:31.64) in the 4×800 relay and Heather Sea, Byford, Henney and Sproles in the 4×400 relay (4:22.59). to also advance to Tuesday’s Bloomington North Regional.

Trinity Lutheran finished 13th with three points. Emma Goecker finished seventh in the 3,200 (14:12.71).

Eagles take seventh

BLOOMINGTON — Brown County finished seventh with 30 points in Tuesday’s Bloomington North Sectional.

Izzy Rygiel placed third in the pole vault at 9-0 to advance to the Bloomington North Regional. Natalie Suding was fourth in the pole vault (8-6).

Cougars finish 12th

BROOKVILLE — South Decatur finished 12th with eight points in Tuesday’s Franklin County Sectional.

Lana Bell finished sixth in the high jump (4-10). The Cougars also took sixth in the 4×800 relay (11:08.9).
