SOFTBALL

Victory edges Crusaders

DYER — Columbus Christian rallied from a 14-6 deficit after three innings to take a 21-20 lead in the seventh, but Victory Christian came back with two runs in the bottom of the seventh to pull out a 22-21 win in the Calumet Christian Tournament.

Shelby Nickerson had a three-run triple for the Crusaders (7-2), who were rained out after three innings of an afternoon game against Calumet Christian.

Knights topple Panthers

AURORA —Jennings County scored a run in the top of the fourth, but South Dearborn answered with two in the fourth and three in the sixth to claim a 5-1 victory.

The Panthers (18-7) were limited to four hits.

Cougars blank Raiders

VERSAILLES — Kamzi Gross threw a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts in four innings and had three hits, including two doubles, to lead Trinity Lutheran to a 7-0 win at South Ripley.

Jaryn Holtsclaw also had three hits and four RBIs for the Cougars (8-9). Savannah Harweger had two hits, including a double.

BASEBALL

Columbus Christian falls

DYER — Columbus Christian led 7-4 after 3 1/2 innings, but Calumet Christian scored 10 times in the bottom of the fourth and went on to post a 15-10 victory in the Calumet Christian Tournament.

C.J. Reed went 2 for 3 with a triple, Drew Robison went 2 for 4 with a double and Sam Flint went 2 for 4 for the Crusaders (2-8). Layton Croslow had two RBIs.

Columbus Christian was supposed to play a second game, but was rained out. The Crusaders will conclude the tournament today.

BOYS TRACK

Panthers win 4×800

BEDFORD — Jennings County won the opening 4×800-meter relay, but the Bedford North Lawrence Sectional was stopped because of rain before the rest of the running finals began and suspended until 5:45 p.m. today.

Lane Elsner, Alex Hendrix, A.J. Siener and Jason Gasper ran 8 minutes, 23 seconds in the 4×800.

GIRLS TENNIS

Semifinal suspended

GREENSBURG — The Jennings County-Madison Shawe match in the Greensburg Sectional semifinals was suspended because of rain shortly after it began.

The match will resume at 5 p.m. today.

Braves top Trinity

SEYMOUR — Trinity Lutheran saw its season come to an end with a 3-2 loss to Brownstown Central in the semifinals of the Seymour Sectional.

Sarah Lemming at No. 1 singles and Regan Cain at No. 2 singles both won by 6-0, 6-1 scores for the Cougars (5-12). Abby Schult fell 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, Lauren Fleetwood and Cassidy Burnside lost 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles and Katelyn Mensendiek and Bekah Brown fell 7-5, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.
