Cook improves, but misses cut in Senior Women’s Open

Nodjya Cook improved by five shots over her first-round score, but it wasn’t enough to be able to make the cut to the final two rounds of the U.S. Senior Women’s Open.

Cook, a teaching pro at Harrison Lake Country Club, opened with an 83 on Thursday at Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club in Southern Pines, North Carolina. She came back with a 7-over-par 78 Friday and finished at 19-over 161 to miss the cut by four shots.

Helen Alfredsson fired a 69 Friday to move into the lead at 2-over 144. Laura Davies is one shot back at 3-over 145.
