Jets move into final

RISING SUN — Hauser advanced to the Rising Sun Sectional final with a 4-3 win Thursday against North Decatur.

The Jets (10-11) scored all four of their runs in the fourth inning in avenging a pair of regular-season losses to the Chargers.

Abby Branum went 3 for 4, and Hunter Crain went 2 for 2 and threw a complete-game nine-hitter to lead Hauser. Hannah Johnson went 2 for 3 with a triple, Zoee Nading went 2 for 4 and Zoe Artis had two RBIs.

The Jets will play Rising Sun for the championship at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Panthers advance to final

JEFFERSONVILLE — Jennings County advanced to the Jeffersonville Sectional final with a 10-2 win against Bedford North Lawrence.

The Panthers (20-8) avenged a regular-season loss to the Stars. Jennings will play Floyd Central for the championship at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

2 Panthers make state

BLOOMINGTON — Two Jennings County girls will make return trips to the state finals in three events after their top-three finishes in the Bloomington North Regional.

Kayla Truesdell won the shot put with a throw of 42 feet, 8¾ inches and finished second in the discus at 137-8. Sam Sproles took second in the long jump at 16-11 3/4.

The Panthers finished eighth as a team with 26 points. Bloomington North won with 112.

Trinity tops GCA

SEYMOUR — Mark Shoemaker won medalist honors with a 40 to lead Trinity Lutheran to a 181-193 win against Greenwood Christian Academy at Shadowood.

Kade Hill carded a 46 for the Cougars. Josiah Foster added a 47, Jacob Sabotin shot 48, Preston Kovener had a 52, Ryland Nierman finished with a 53 and Caleb Williams had a 60.
