Bull Dogs top Olympians

Drew Smith won medalist honors with a 36 Thursday to lead Columbus North to a 151-168 win against Columbus East at Harrison Lake Country Club.

Henry Kiel and Reese Moore each shot 38 for the Bull Dogs. Cameron Ziegler carded a 39, Jackson Kerber added a 41 and Conner Williams had a 44.

Three of the six North seniors — Moore, Ziegler and Smith — birdied their final hole.

Adrian Adams led the Olympians with a 41. Kody Reynolds and Mark Mayhew each shot 42, Cole Schaefer added a 43 an Leyton Erfmeier had a 57.

Panthers win sectional

JEFFERSONVILLE — Kylee Matern smacked a grand slam in the seventh inning to lift Jennings County to a 4-2 win against Floyd Central in the Jeffersonville Sectional final.

The Highlanders had taken the lead with a run in the fifth and another in the sixth. But the Panthers got three consecutive singles before Matern’s blast.

Tori Lee went 3 for 3 with a double for Jennings. Madi Skinner and Shelby Wilson each went 2 for 3.
