Police arrest two on multiple charges after chase

Two people were arrested on multiple charges after they attempted to flee on foot from Columbus police.

Just after 5 p.m. Wednesday, an officer from the Columbus Police Department’s Intelligence Led Policing Unit saw Natosha E. Burton, 35, of 2840 Catalina Drive, and Justin S. Sholty, 42, of 2521 Lafayette Ave., near 10th Street and Sycamore Street.

The officer confirmed multiple active warrants for Burton and Sholty’s arrest. After the two saw the officer, Burton and Sholty began running to a nearby alley in an attempt to evade arrest, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

The officer continued to pursue the two when they split up, Harris said. Additional officers arrived and the two were located and taken into custody a short time later.
