About 100 Columbus citizens attended a special sanitation meeting at City Hall and urged city officials to privatize city trash collection to eliminate the need to charge residents a monthly fee for the service that was once provided through property taxes.

Gary Arnholt, a Cummins Engine Co. assembly line worker, rode shotgun in a 1934 racer that was among five historic Cummins cars entered in past 500 mile races as they took a ceremonial pre-race tour of the track in honor of the company’s 75th anniversary and its contribution to racing.

Rocky Ford Par Three Golf Course, the third 18-hole golf course in the city, opened in time for Memorial Day.
