Carol J. Donnell, 84, of Columbus, went to join her husband of 50 years, Dick, in Heaven at 9:45 p.m., June 2, 2019, at Keepsake Village.

Carol was born in Columbus, the daughter of George and Elsie May Everroad Collins. She married Paul R. “Dick” Donnell on June 22, 1957.

Carol retired from Cummins Engine Company in 2005 after 50 years of service, and was a proud member of the Columbus High School class of 1953. She served on the United Way Board of Directors from 1984 to 1989, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Carol volunteered at the Columbus Regional Hospital Gift Shop and the Mill Race Center. When not volunteering, she could always be found at the nearest casino.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2019 at the Jewell – Rittman Family Funeral Home. Carol will be buried next to her husband at Garland Brook Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

She is survived by her son, Roy L. (Pam) Donnell of Columbus; step-grandsons, Keith Wooten of Fenton, Missouri and Kevin Wooten of Columbus; as well as a step-great-granddaughter, Gabby Wooten of Fenton, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick on July 4, 2007; her father, George Collins; her mother, Elsie Mae Everroad Schrelick; her step-father, Roy E. Schrelick; as well as an infant daughter, Paula Donnell.
