Members of the school patrol at Garfield School posed with principal Violet Linke and teacher Dennis Rouse on the last day of regular classroom use at the school in 1969. The school, built in 1896, was first known as Maple Grove School.

2009

Columbus North and Columbus East high schools conducted commencement for 626 students.

1994

Battling thick smoke and flames, two Columbus Police Department patrolmen, Doug Lee and Chris Couch, crawled into a burning home twice to pull an elderly woman and her cat to safety.

1969

Marsh Foods Inc. of Hagerstown had a groundbreaking ceremony for a new Marsh Foodliner in Holiday Center at State Road 46 and Taylor Road.
