JENNINGS COUNTY — Jennings County Sheriff deputies have arrested a North Vernon man after a complaint that he was causing a disturbance and was armed.
The sheriff’s department received a 911 call at 9 p.m. Tuesday about a resident on Derbyshire Court saying the man had fled from the residence when the telephone call was made to deputies.
After speaking to the person who called 911, Deputy Doug Brown searched the area and located Jeremiah Littrell, 19, North Vernon, in the area of Big Pine Drive, said Chief Deputy Dave Turner.
As Brown attempted to make contact, Littrell fled on foot into a wooded area near County Road 500W and could not be located, Turner said.
At 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sgt. Cody Low saw a vehicle leaving a home where deputies had information that Littrell may have been headed to at some point, Turner said.
Low stopped the vehicle on County Road 300N and Littrell was a back seat passenger, who was then arrested, Turner said. Deputies did not locate a firearm.
Littrell was arrested on a preliminary charge of resisting law enforcement and was being held in the Jennings County Jail on a cash bond of $1,155, deputies said.
