President Trump’s intense hatred of Muslims, despite the fact the our U.S. Constitution provides for freedom of religion, is causing him to put a stranglehold on Iran, which may cause the collapse of that significant Middle East country. We have disagreements with Iran, but destroying that country will cause a chain reaction, which could lead to another world war.

Trump said before his election, "Donald J. Trump calls for a complete and total shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our representatives can figure out what the (heck) is going on." He also said that he watched a video on television that showed thousands of Muslims standing on the New Jersey shore and shouting their approval as the twin towers went down on 9/11, as though Muslims were told ahead of time that was going to happen. In December 2015, Trump said that polls showed that a sizable segment of the Muslim population of our country has a great hatred toward Americans.

There are about 4.8 million Muslims in this country, some of them here in Columbus. We have Muslims in Congress, one of them representing the 7th congressional district in Indiana. There are mosques in all of our large cities.

Trump’s irrational thought process is putting us at great risk.
