Closings list for July 4
The following closings have been announced for the July 4th holiday on Thursday.
Post offices throughout Indiana will be closed. There will be no mail delivery or caller service on that day. All services resume on Friday. Customers who wish to purchase stamps, mail packages, or ship urgent letters or packages on July 4 may use self-service kiosks at their local post office.
Columbus City Hall is closed Thursday and Friday.
Columbus will not have city trash, compost, brush or recycling collections Thursday. Collections will be delayed one day for Thursday and Friday, with Friday’s usual collections moved to Saturday. Residents are reminded to have their toters out by 7 a.m. The department’s office will be closed Thursday and Friday, but will reopen July 8.
The Columbus City Utilities Office will be closed Thursday and Friday. Summer hours will resume at 7 a.m. July 8. Anyone who has a problem with water or sewer service should call the business office at 812-372-8861 and follow the prompts.
The Bartholomew County Courthouse and county offices are closed Thursday and Friday.
The Republic circulation call center will have holiday hours on Thursday. The circulation customer service call center will be open from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. to transact regular circulation business. The number is 812-379-5601. The Republic main office and all other departments are closed for the holiday.
