First public input session on FairOaks mall future set for Thursday

The design firm selected to help Columbus define the future of the FairOaks Mall, Donner Center and surrounding areas will hold its first public-input session Thursday.

Representatives from the firm, MKSK, will lead the session, which will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the former J. Nicole Store space at the FairOaks Mall.

The session will be interactive and feature different stations where people can meet with MKSK officials, said Tom Brosey, a former Cummins Inc. executive hired by the city as a consultant for the project. Additionally, MKSK officials will give a presentation about the project and how they plan to approach it, he said.

“It’s not a clean sheet of paper, but it’s fairly close to that, as (MKSK officials) are looking for public input and they’ve just started the project,” Brosey said.

No decisions will be made during the public input session, according to city officials.
