Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies arrested an Indianapolis woman after she was accused of taking off part of her bathing suit and throwing it at a deputy, hitting him in the face.

Deputies were sent to the 4000 block of North Huffer Road at 6 p.m. Saturday and spoke with a female, identified as Kimberly Swindell, 55, Indianapolis, deputies said.

They could smell a strong odor of alcohol as they spoke with her and a controlled substance was found on her person, deputies said.

Swindell, who was wearing a bathing suit, began disrobing and threw part of her swimsuit at the officers, hitting Deputy Dustin Newland in the face, deputies said.

Following a check at Columbus Regional Hospital, Swindell was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of battery on a public safety official and possession of a controlled substance, deputies said.

She was being held there in lieu of $12,500 bond, jail officials said.
